Self-development and everyday coping strategies Our three-year project Self-development and everyday coping strategies has its background in our research, including our many years of crisis counseling and consulting work, and witnessing the variety of problems that women experience in daily life. These experiences have shown us that many migrant and refugee women face difficulties to master the challenges in everyday life. The loss of social networks, a lack of self confidence and concerns related to coping with their new situation which in turn impacts negatively on women’s physical and mental health.
